Culture: Neolithic Material: Flint Dims: L 13.2cm, W 4.9cm Accession No: HCA 113 Current Location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. This axehead weighs 150g. It has a narrow pointed oval cross section and curved, symmetrical edges. It’s blade is symmetrical and it has an irregular butt shape. Only the blade is ground and polished. The sides are pointed and almost straight in plan and the blade edge is chipped. The axe is finely flaked all over. Flint is most common in Ireland in the chalk areas of north-east Antrim. More.
