This pearlware tea cup was found in the House for Families at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, the home of slaves that worked on the Mansion House Farm. The quality of the tea cup and damage it sustained suggests that the Washington’s gave it to an enslaved family after it had become damaged. 3D scanned with a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner in the archaeology laboratory at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Description by Virginia Commonwealth University student Jessica Evans. Digital model provided by the Virtual Curation Laboratory courtesy of the Mount Vernon Ladies Association.
