This mummy case is made from a mixture of linen and plaster called 'cartonnage'. Cases such as this have a split at the back, which was laced closed after the mummy was inserted. This example belonged to a woman named Denit-en-Khonsu, a singer in the temple of the god Amun and a priestess of the moon-god Khonsu.
