This unfinished statue of a non-royal man was intended to serve in the cult of Osiris and would have stood in a temple. Through it the person depicted could participate symbolically in the rituals performed in the temple. Created in the Late period, end of the 26th/Beginning of the 27th Dynasty, ca. 540-510 BC.
