This is one of two French Ormolu-mounted meissen bouquetiere figures created in the period of Louis XV's reign. The porcelain originates from around 1740-44, and the mount circa 1745-49. Each work was modelled by a J.J.Kandler, and the mounts are struck with the 'c couronné poincon'.   Sold at The European Furniture & Works of Art sale at Christies, London 4th July 2017.Estimate, GBP 15,000 - 25,000Price realised GBP 16,250   'Lot Essay' Kändler's Taxa of 1740-44 notes '1. Gärtner Figure mit einem Fuße auff einem K?rbße ruhend, mit beiden Händen aber einen Korb haltend, Bluhmen drein zu sezen' and '1. Weibsbild mit der Weinbutte auffm R?cken, darein Bluhmen zu sezen.' Other pairs of these figures were sold in these Rooms on 30 November 1970, lots 100-101 from the A.C.J. Wall Collection, and on 17 October 1977, lot 166. A further pair are illustrated in Abraham L. den Blaauwen, Meissen Porcelain in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, 2000, pp. 438-439, nos. 320-321.
