This lion and bull group of Parian marble was found in Athens, at the Olympieion. It originates from a pediment. On the right, a lion has caught a bull by its back. The left portion, showing another lion that grabs the bull by the head, is a plaster cast of a piece now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (Accession number 42.11.35). Carved around 500 BC.
