In Roman mythology, Diana was the goddess of the hunt, nature, and the moon. She is often portrayed with wild animals and woodland, she is also said to have been able to talk to animals. Here she is depicted running during a hunt, with a quiver of arrows and a dog by her side. The decorative pedestal was created in 1754 by Pascal Latour.
