This unknown woman wears the so called "Octavia hairstyle", a coiffeur favoured by Octavia, sister of Augustus and second wife of triumvir Anthony. This hairstyle was very popular throughout the Late Republic and remained in vogue until the early Imperial period. Part of the hair is folded on the forehead in a nodus, while other strands and braids fall on the neck.
