Above the architecture of the cathedral's "Dormition of the Virgin" Bachelier sculpted, according to a seventeenth-century account, the "image of a seated Virgin holding her hand to a child on its knees and several children playing at various games around him. All these children adopt postures in the style of Michelangelo or Donatello, for they are slightly muscular."
