 An immense statue (about 6 m high), made of hollow bronze, made in 1929 by the sculptor Ivan Mestrovic (1883-1962). It is located at the entrance to the town of Split (Croatia). Other statues of the same type are also found at Nin and Varazdin. After the assembly of the bishops in 926, Bishop Gregory succeeded in imposing in the liturgy the Croatian language to the deprofit of Latin. According to the legend, caress the (very) big toe of the statue luck and allows the realization of a vow.
