Acquired in Paris in 1910Marble, around 410 BC This funerary relief from the final phase of the Peloponnesian War depicts two citizen soldiers from Athens, armed with the large round shield, lance and cone-shaped pilos helmet. The bearded man to the left wearing the robes of an Athenian priest is possibly a seer, their consultation being obligatory prior to any battle. This object is part of "Scan The World".
