This wooden servant figure stands at 21 cm in height and dates back to The Old Kingdom (ca. 2686 - 2125 BC). The work is impressively preserved, with paint still visible on the head. The arms and feet, as well as parts of the upper body have been broken off. The figure entered the collection in 1998 though a donation. Servent figures are typical of the Old Kingdom and should ensure the care of the deceased in the afterlife. They usually do everyday tasks like brew beer, grind grain or bake bread. Unfortunately, the activity of these servants cannot be determined due to their fragmentary condition. Inv. No. 1848
