Hellenistic figure of a mourning siren thought to represent a fragment of a larger funerary architectural element. This figure, measuring 7.3 x 7.1 x 4.9 cm, was carved from limestone and painted in color, the pigments of which are still traceable via various forms of technical analysis. Yale University Art Gallery, Ancient Art Collection, Catalog No. 2001.28.11 Preliminary 3D color interpretation featured in the installation Seeing Blue in the Ancient World in the exhibit Sights and Sounds of Ancient Ritual at the Yale University Art Gallery 9 November 2018 - 3 March 2019. Scanned and processed by Yale Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage Digital Imaging Specialist Chelsea Alene Graham and Yale University Art Gallery Conservation Assistant III Andrés Garcés using Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio Professional in 2018. Geometry uploaded at 0.3 mm resolution.
