This is an Etruscan cinerary urn; on the cover (now missing) would be the deceased, recumbent. On the side the abduction of Helen (wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta) by the Trojan price Paris, is depicted. From Volterra (PI). 2nd - 1st Century BC.
