This marble bust, completed by French sculptor Adam Lambert-Sigisbert, is a work completed in 1733 and housed in the National Academy of San Luca. The sculpture, titled 'Dolore' or Pain was inspired by the Laocoon group, which the artist discovered on his travels. The subject of the piece is unknown but it could be suggested that, becaause of the artist's interest in the Hellenistic group, it would depict Laocoon. The Laocoon Group can be downloaded from Scan the World here.
