This sculpture has been commissioned in honour of Marguerite de Bourbon from the daughter Marguerite d’Autriche. She was Savoy duchess at the time and that’s when she founded the monastery of Brou. The tomb of the mother turned out as very traditional and classical, on the wall can be found an inscription saying “enfeu”. The sculpture is adorned with natural elements including a daisy which is a visualization of the deceased Marguerite. The original sculpture is placed in Jean de Bruxelles Abbey.
