This column depicts a richly dressed Maya ruler with an enormous tiered feather headdress. The figure, flanked by an attendant dwarf, also wears a collar with three images of human heads and a long beaded necklace. In his right hand, he carries a hooked obsidian sceptre, and his left arm is hidden behind a  shield. The ruler's face was originally painted red but intentionally damaged in antiquity. Carved column are rare in Maya art but appear in Puuc region of the Yucatan Peninsula
