Carlo, Baron Marochetti (1805-1867) was a sculptor; a baron of Italy, Marochetti attracted the patronage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert after 1848. A regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and a prominent figure in the London art world, Marochetti executed statues of Queen Victoria and the Duke of Wellington as well as many decorative works and busts. This bronze statuette was incised and dated in 1888, sculpted by Gabriele Ambrosio (1844-1918)   This object is part of "Scan The World".
