Color:

After his death on the cross, Christ descents into Hell before his resurrection. There he finds the souls of the righteous of the Old Convenant (the Jewish law of the Old Testament) and strikes down Satan. Impaling the devil with the cross of the resurrection, Jesus tramples him underfoot; at the same time he delivers Adam and Eve. Hell is depicted as a backdrop to them, on the right. A demon plunges the damned into the furnace (a pot over a fire!) using a pitchfork. On the other large side, three of the chosen ones are borne by an angel to Heavenly Jerusalem, whose entrance tower is visible.
