This marble bust is a portrait of Philip Romolo Neri (1515–1595), known as the Third Apostle of Rome, after Saints Peter and Paul,who was an Italian priest and the founder of the Congregation of the Oratory, a society for secular clergy. Domenico Guidi (1625-1701), the author of this portrait, was an Italian baroque sculptor, who is mainly known for his feud with Bernini, one of the most prominent Italian architects and sculptors.
