Color:

Jean-Baptiste Claude Odiot was one of the most illustruous exponents of French silversmithing. In particular, he made Napoleon Bonaparte's consular sword with the jeweller Nitot in 1801, which was used at the coronation ceremony on 2 December 1804. This bust, of an uncompromising realism, shows the grandiose and ster image of a patriarch - a member of a dynasty of artisans - while also capturing Odiot as an individual.
