This work, attributed to the Renaissance artist Donatello, depicts a bust of a young man with a large, antique medallion around his neck. Created around 1450-1455, the original is housed in the Museo Nazionale di Bargello, Florence.  In Janson (1957, I, pl. 232-36, II, 141-143), it is discussed whether or not the bust is of Donatello, but attributes it - for lack of better - to Donatello's oeuvre. It was formerly believed to be a portrait of G.A. Gattemalata.
