This sculpture of a little boy holding a dead duck may be linked to the Boethus' school. Indeed, Boethus was a Greek sculptor famous in the 2nd century B.C. for his sculpture of a young boy holding a duck by the neck – this sculpture was so appreciated that many copies were made, even until the Renaissance. This is a cast of the Roman marble copy, and was made in the 2nd century B.C., approximately at the same time as the original.
