Hampson ID: FM 6645Form: BottleSite: Friends Mound Dr. Hampson obtained this small (height = 6 inches) Bell Plain bottle from a site he called 'Friends Mound,' which is located in the vicinity of Pecan Point in Mississippi County, Arkansas. The base of the neck is encompassed within an applique ogee, defined by Phillips and Brown (1978:Plate 16) as 'a circular or oval outline (usually double) with two opposite ogival points and a smaller circular or oval nucleus inside.' On other similar ceramic vessels the vessel neck is substituted for the 'nucleus.' In some instances, the ogee is created by a pair of intertwined rattlesnakes.7 http://hampson.cast.uark.edu/artifact.php?IDart=125   This object is part of "Scan The World".
