This is a Roman copy of a Greek work, combining the Aphrodite Anadyomene type whereby the subject is caught after stepping out of water and adjusting her hair, with the 'Modest Aphrodite' depicting her holding her drapery. The interesting aspect about this sculpture is that it was made out of two types of marble, the lower half in Carrara, the upper in Island marble; this suggests that this piece is the combination of two ancient sculptural fragments reused and merged into two. This object is part of "Scan The World".
