This limestone base, possibly an altar, is decorated with reliefs representing the rape of Persephone. In Greek mythology, Persephone,  also called Kore, is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter and is the queen of the underworld and the goddess of the springtime, flowers and vegetation. In front, Artemis follows the quadriqua which carries Persephone and behind her stand Aphrodite, Demeter and Persephone.   The altar was discovered in Vitsadha.
