These are the files of my project for the Maker Faire Rome (Call for Makers). It is a 1:1000 Replica of the Rion Antirion Bridge in Greece. It is meant to show how 3D Printing can be used in Engineering, especially Civil Engineering, to create replicas and models that allow the teacher to explain the design principles that make a structure earthquake- and windproof. The instructions to print all of this and glue it all together are too much to write, so if someone is genuinely interrested in making the bridge themselves, let me know in the comments. The water under the bridge is made of soap, all of the bridge was spray-painted, and and I used lead-tape to give the bridge the blue lighting. It will take a lot of time and a lot of glue, so be prepared. Note that there is no other 3D Design on the internet, and there are literally no true sketches on the internet that contain dimentions. As such, the designs are as close as they can be to real life. The one noticeable problem is that all of the pylons are a bit taller than normal, but it is not so noticeable. The majority of the parts do not need supports, but some do, but they are very easy to remove. Add supports if you believe your printer needs them. The whites are to be painted over. I myself used PLA, with no issues (apart form some wrapping on some corners, and some underextrusion that was teh machine's fault). Paint all of the parts for maximum realism. Much glue will be needed to complete the bridge. As a tip, if you glue two parts and they disconnect from each other, first trim the two glued surfaces with sandpaper or a dremel, and then reglue. Burned glue is toxic so beware. All of the models were made in SolidWorks 2015 and are uploaded on grabcad.com
