I had been seeing some really cool designs of different cases people were designing for the Amazon Echo and wanted to make one of my own. The laser turret from the Hoth battles in Star Wars made perfect sense given the shape of the Amazon Echo. I love how it turned out and it was also my first project with my new Prusa I3 MK3S. Best use of my quarantine time to date.   NOTE: This is for the Generation 2 Amazon Echo. I am not sure if it will fit other models of the Echo.   If you print one, please let me know on Instagram @mikemakes3d.   Turret Bottom.stl is the only part that will need supports. Everything else can be printed without them.   Print Hatch Cover.stl with the top surface facing down so that the hinge prints properly. Hinge should work right off the printer.   I used 0.15mm layer height and standard PLA settings for all of the parts. For the base I printed with 5% infill to save time. The gun barrel was printed with 50% infill and oriented with the barrel tip straight down on the bed. Everything else was printed at 15% infill.   I used super glue to attach all of the components (Don't glue anything to your Amazon Echo). Also, be sure to orient the gun barrel forward so that the microphones on top of the Echo are aligned with the holes in the Turret Top.stl component.
