TheCapsule 250 is a waterproof, lightweight and durable container. You can easily fabricate TheCapsule 250 out of any ordinary 250ml drinking can. TheCapsule is suitable for all things (e.g. medicine in general, small electronic devices, band-aids, sanitizer, pocket knife, powerbank, snacks, bicycle repair kit, lighter, matches…) that must be kept dry during outdoor activities like hiking, camping or mountainbiking. It can also be used on festivals to protect some of your belongings. Additionally TheCapsule functions as a camping lantern with a soft diffuse lighting. To make use of this specific feature you have to print the cap (two different cap-types available) of TheCapsule in transparent material and add a small flashlight.   The design of TheCapsule is optimized to be printed simply on an FDM printer without any support material or any infill.   I designed two different types of caps to close your Capsule with. You can choose between one cap with a huge handle to fasten TheCapsule on your backpack and the other, which is flat and has no handle on top in order to save some space while being stored in your bag.   To create your own “TheCapsule”: You have to cut off the top of a standard 250ml drinking can with a tin opener (This shouldn’t be too difficult) and then press the threaded ring onto the opened drinking can (You can do this best by putting the threaded ring on a table and pressing the can onto the ring. -> The open side of the can has to pressed into the ring). The cap can now be screwed on the threaded ring and can be sealed up with a conventional rubber band or with a printable TPU sealing ring. I would appreciate it if you could share a picture of your Capsule. With a conventional rubber band TheCapsule 250 provides protection against splash water as well as rain or snow. If you use a TPU sealing ring you can even put TheCapsule 250 under water for a certain period of time.->The waterproofness depends on your print settings as well as the type of sealing.
