Based on Maker's Muse torture test I decided to make my own to test my modeling skills.

About the author:
A_Reed
My passion for modeling dates back to high school when as a freshman ('02-'03) I joined the FIRST Robotics team. I spent my first two seasons on the team doing basic animation, modeling and texturing in 3D Studio Max (Autodesk) and transitioned into design of the mechanical aspects of the team's robot my Junior year. I had picked up on the team's design software the year before and observed the engineers at work and eventually got to tinkering with it myself in my engineering drafting class in the fall. I spent a lot of time my junior and senior year learning and applying Autodesk Inventor to our competition robot designs. Through this program I gained a passion for engineering and knew it was time to put the Trumpet down and pursue higher learning in said field. (Oh yes, the Dorkness is strong with this one. Trumpet and Robots!!) Long story short, I now have a bachelors of science in applied science and a career in mechanical engineering. This career and the pay commensurate to it has allowed me to buy all the toys a growing man-child could ever want, including a sweet gaming rig, a Steam library built upon the foundation of many a summer sale and a burgeoning collection of Lego Star Wars UCS kits. But there is one itch that was not being scratched in this senseless massacre of both my bank account and my chances of ever finding a female of the species, and that was my itch to make. So as of March 2016 I ponied up way too much money, gave up on the other pursuit and bought my first 3D printer (Ultimaker's aren't cheap, but that was the talk of the town at the time). My curiosity is scratched, caressed and down right purring, much like my printer. I have found a hobby that meshes all too well into my pursuits and I am content. You'd think doing more tinkering, CAD and work after a full day at my job doing the same would make me want to pursue something completely opposite, my mind craves this stuff and if it is a project I am truly passionate about I only fall deeper into it. I am looking forward to falling much deeper into this endeavor. Cheers!!
